Why do we like nice round numbers?  100…1,000…10,000…1,000,000.  They’re all really nice numbers.  500 and 5,000, too.  We like them a lot.  They look nice will all those zeroes.  We can recognise them quickly.  They seem to pass a level in the number sequence, like adding another zero.  But really, they’re just a product of our counting system.  We could very well have a counting system based on 12.  Or how about one based on 8?

What am I talking about here?  Well, this blog has reached one of these milestones.  This morning, it got its 10,000th view!  The past 5 months have seen a big increase in traffic here.  I’d like to thank everyone reading, and I hope to provide you with more great posts.
