As usual, this hasn’t been a very successful Camp NaNo. Everything else seems to get in the way of writing. But not all is bad.
I finished writing part 3 of Journey to Ariadne. It still needs some fleshing-out and a submission to Critique Corner before I post it, though. I need to get the edited part 2 up, too. I’ll begin writing part 4 during my break at work, I think. Friday and next Monday should be good days to write, too.
My target is 10,000 words, which is still doable. I can achieve it in the final two weeks. Only about 8,500 words to go. I think I can do it.
This month, I’ve been reflecting on my style, and seeing what I need to improve. One thing I’d like to do is include more action, more observation by the point-of-view characters, and more thoughts. Also, when the book comes out, the 26 part web serial will be edited and altered so much, it’ll be very different. It won’t be a book with 26 short chapters. These parts that I’m writing will be incorporated into the story, but will be redone to be a smoother story. Think of the web serial as a series of experiences as told from the eyes of the people involved in the Ariadne Project. What you will read on my official page will not be the same as the published book.
How’s your Camp going?
