Cold Night’s Drink

It’s getting colder at night these days, and with the poor insulation in Japanese homes, I really feel the cold inside. I wear more layers, use heavier blankets, and enjoy hot drinks.

So, I’d like to ask you a question. When it’s cold, and your sitting with a good book, watching a movie at home, or doing something on the computer, what’s your choice of drink? Leave your answer in the comments.

My answer? Hot chocolate.

            1. Doesn’t have that acrid taste like tea that brews too long. The smokiness comes through. The smell is wonderful. Russian Caravan is a bit harder to find than Lapsang, but I drink both.

            2. Interesting. There’s one tea I had about 5 years ago that I don’t remember the name of, but it was Korean and tasted a bit like sesame. Definitely not made from tea leaves, but it may have been corn.

  1. Anything hot and sweet. Hot cocoa, hot tea, chai tea latte, but not apple cider. Don’t even like that cold. Don’t know why, but just don’t. Coffee if I don’t have to get up early the next morning, because even decaf will keep me awake. Probably all in my head, but it still works.

  2. Decaffeinated Diet (it’s only recently become decaffeinated and less recently diet) Coke with ice. For some reason it always reminds me of being in Spain, sunbathing by the pool with a good book, just waiting for my cheeseburger and chips to arrive. Ooh, yeah. *salivates*
