As you can see, the leaves are changing colour here in Japan. But there are some other changes happening, and some I need to do.

What’s happening has a lot to do with my daughter. She’s approaching three years old, and the biggest change is her ability to speak. She’s getting more conversational all the time. She’s also getting quite defiant when she doesn’t get what she wants.

There are some things I’d like to change, though.

First, I want to change how and when I write. Any moment I have alone, I should try writing, unless I’m too tired. Mornings when I’m by myself and lunch breaks at work may be the best.

Second, I need to get more reading time in. I tend to read only on the train and sometimes during lunch breaks. I should read at night before I go to bed. I’d get much more read. Maybe I’ll make my 30 book challenge next year.

Another change is that I want to spend more time in the countryside. Trees would be nice.

And so, here are some maple trees for you.

What do you want to change in your routine?

  1. It’s really hard for me to change my routine, as most of it revolves around the kids’ needs. If I could change one thing though, it would be to read more too.
Can’t wait to see the leaves in person!!! 😀

Nnk, now that that’s outta the way… :] I gotta squeeze in more writing and reading time. Mostly vlogging, work and playing games have taken up most my time lately. There isn’t much I can do about work taking up all my time, but I can try a little harder to make my precious little free time useful.

Also, gotta school myself. I’ve really let that one go. x_x

    And photograph more!

    1. I’ve been slacking off on the online courses lately. I’ve been blogging a lot. I need to lay off on the YouTube watching, too. I waste a lot of time watching random things.

  3. Like you, I want more writing and reading time. I should be reading at night (but it’s hard, since I want to have time with my partner, too). I have started going to the gym more…. but I need to do that more, too. Maybe I can knock two out at once and sometimes listen to audiobooks. 😛

  4. Having recently retired from the “day job” – I’m in need of a complete overhaul in routine. The last six weeks I’ve been happily scattered, and I’m slowly building the routine. For the first time EVER I get to pick and choose what I want to do.
But I’m finding there is never enough time to cram in everything I want to do in 24 hours. That’s odd because theoretically I now have all the time in the world! Too bad I don’t live on a planet with 60 hour days. Reading and writing are high on my list, and then digging through the collective clutter of years of living. That brings back memories along with the dust.

      1. I remember reading “Anna Karenina” while commuting to work years and years ago, it took a LONG time to complete. And I was reading multiple books for school and pleasure. Problem is I had a really hard time attaching to the plot/story. The main characters I remember vividly to this day, but the story line is kind of a mash up. lol Probably should read it again.
