December was slow, but January proved to be a busy one. Just like in 2015, the first month of the year was strong. It didn’t beat last January’s record for views, though. The month ended with 1,198 followers, an increase of 38.
January saw some great days and some slow days, so it was pretty mixed. However, the great days were really good. The average views per day was 109, which is tied for second best. It would’ve been higher if it hadn’t been for the last day of the month, which was slow. 19 out of 31 days were over 100 views. The busiest day was January 29th with 174 views. In January, there were 3,381 views, which is the second best by only 20. It was the 16th month in a row over 2,000, and the 7th time it went over 3,000. The month ended with 66,241 views. There were 72 posts in January, bringing it to a total of 1,579.
With a strong 689 comments in January, the total number of comments is now 11,564.

Please check out the following posts. These are the posts that deserve a second look and didn’t get as many views as others. I think you’ll enjoy them.

I managed to post a review, and it was quite the book to read. I have another couple reviews to write, and should post them within a couple weeks. I should also be finishing another book soon. Here’s January’s review:
- The Iliad, by Homer
On Twitter, I have 3,107 followers, which is an increase of 49. I follow 3,047, which is up by 66. I finished with 8,226 tweets, with 173 coming in January.
On YouTube, I uploaded 2 videos in January. I have 44 subscribers, which is an increase of 2 from last month. The month ended with 9,076 views, which is an increase of 141. I still have 29 videos to do about Japanese sites, plus videos about our move to Canada, and videos about living in Japan. That’s a lot. That’s good!
Looking Ahead to February
February is our last full month in Japan. Things should be normal for the month, though we’ve got a lot of cleaning and packing to do. The blog should be business as usual.
I expect at least three reviews. I’m going to make sure I get them done. Two of the reviews are for books I finished at the end of last year, and one I am currently reading.
I’m hoping to get to work on more videos. I have so many to do. I need to find the time to do them. Editing takes time.
More Top Ten posts will be coming, as well as Quick Facts, and maybe even a worldbuilding post or two.
Lots to do, so little time. March will slow down, especially the end of the month, but I hope to keep up with my twice a day blog posting whenever I can. I’m looking forward to seeing how February goes, though!
