We Made It to Edmonton Safely

We’re in Edmonton now, and we are going to have to try settling in. Everything is so strange. It’s like a foreign country to me now.

Once I’ve got a spot set up for my computer, maybe tonight, I’ll do a regular monthly review. But starting tomorrow, we have a lot of sorting, setting up, shopping, address changing, school visiting, and registrations. Lots to do.

At least my daughter loves her new bed and bedroom.

  1. Oh my goodness, I totally missed the move itself. o.o Well, welcome back to Canada! And welcome to your family as well! I’m glad to hear that the little one likes her room…things like that will definitely make the move in general easy on her. 🙂

    1. She hardly sleeps in it, actually. She still prefers to sleep with us. She’s woken up twice in the middle of the night screaming because we weren’t there.

      1. Ahh, that’s tons of fun right there. We tried to cut that off at the pass by putting her in her own room when she was 7 months old. It worked in the long run, but for the first year I thought I was going to go absolutely insane because every time she cried I just wanted to pull her in my own bed and be done with it.

        1. We couldn’t do that at all. We had a one bedroom apartment. While she did have a crib for when she was a baby, when she became too big for it, she slept with us.

  2. Glad to hear you’re in safe and sounds and your little one is settling in nicely (at least in her new room). Good luck in following days and hope all goes smooth as glass.

    1. Well, the first night was okay for her, then the second night, she screamed in the middle of the night in her bed. She was alone and terrified. The next night, too. She’s been sleeping with us again.

      1. Is there room to put her bed in your room? Let her sleep in your room in her bed for a while then move her bed back to her room? Might make the transition easier. I know when we went to my parents, Bang had his own bed in our room (it was just a small toddler bed, though) and it really helped him adjust to sleeping in a new place.

        1. No, it would block the bathroom door. She’s just ended up sleeping with us again, though it’s really hard to sleep with her turning sideways and kicking me.
