April was a slow month, but May rebounded very well. I returned to my usual twice a day posting schedule, and had one of my best months. While it wasn’t the top month, it had potential to be the best. A last minute slowdown stopped that from happening. The month ended with 1,339 followers, an increase of a healthy 54.
May was an up and down month. It started strongly, then slowed down for the second week, then had an even stronger third week, then slower in the fourth week. The average number of views per day was 120. 23 out of 31 days were over 100, with 5 over 150. The best day of the month was May 19th with 196 views. The total number of views in May was 3,713, which is the 4th best month. It was the 20th time in a row over 2,000 views and 10th time over 3,000. The month ended with 80,292 views. There were 65 posts in May, bringing it to a total of 1,817.
In May, there were 660 comments, which brings it to a total of 14,592 comments.
The top ten countries were:
- United States (1,687 views)
- Canada (783 views)
- United Kingdom (365 views)
- Japan (195 views)
- Australia (106 views)
- India (59 views)
- France (44 views)

The most popular post written before May was To Those Who Blame Justin Trudeau for CPP Investment in Mumbai with 122 views. That’s the post that went viral in March.
It was a much better month, but there were still some posts that did not attract so many readers. However, I think they still deserve to be read. Here they are.
Also, there is one page I would like you to take a look at. It’s the newest page on the blog, and it’s dedicated to Patreon. It wasn’t viewed much at all. Please have a look at the Support page.
No book reviews done this month. I really should get caught up. I should also read.
On Twitter, I have 3,378 followers, which is a big increase of 118. I follow 3,292, which is up by 82. I finished with 8,815 tweets, with a huge 272 coming in April.
On YouTube, I uploaded 5 videos in May. I have 55 subscribers, which is an increase of 4 from last month. The month ended with 9,798 views, which is an increase of 118. I have a lot of videos to edit and upload about our move to Canada, as well as many videos about sightseeing in Japan to do. Hoping to even more this month.
On Facebook, my author page has 75 followers, which is up by 4.
On Patreon, I have 0 patrons contributing $0 per month. I just started it, so it’s bound to have nothing at first.
Looking Ahead to June
This is going to be a big month for me in a few ways. I think the biggest is actually doing some writing. I’m set up to start using the office. Unfortunately, just a couple hours ago, we found that there are leaks in the basement.
I’ve been changing how I use social media, as well. So, I’m going to be working more on that in June. I’ll be socialising more, marketing less. I’ve already had a positive result on Twitter with that. I’ll be working more on Facebook to see how I can get that increased, too.
On YouTube, I’ll be uploading more videos, and definitely working on the Japan videos. Those are the interesting videos, ones that should attract more subscribers.
Also, expect more TV and movie reviews, starting with Sherlock, The Walking Dead, and The Princess Bride.
Thanks to everyone for reading, especially if you made it through this post. I’m looking forward to a productive June.
