A Day in the Country

Today, we spent the day at our close friends’ house east of the city, and their home is surrounded by trees. We had hot dogs for dinner, and we cooked them over a fire. But I took a few pictures, since we don’t get out of the city often.

Leaves are already starting to change colour
A new trail that they created.
A young peacock that they have as a pet.
A male turkey and a chicken.
This female turkey seemed to like me.
The tree is looking at you!

Do you live in or near the country? Or do you spend most of your time in the city?

    1. Would love to see London’s parks. Here in Edmonton (Canada, not the London borough of Enfield), we have an extensive river valley park system that bisects the city. Many trails, forests, parks, and golf courses in the valley.

  1. Rural town here. We drive a 1/2 mile to get to the woods. We’re a 20 minute drive from my father-in-law’s cottage at the lake which is heavily wooded also. We’ve got hiking trails all over! I wouldn’t survive long in a big city.

    1. And I’ve spent the past 21 years in cities that are big or in a big metropolitan area. Well, 5 of those were in Victoria, which isn’t a big city, but was a busy tourist city. It was always busy, except winter. Lots of nature there!
