Discussion: Book Doesn’t Meet Expectations

I’ve been thinking about how people often hear about books before they read them. They usually have an impression of what the book may be like before reading. However, sometimes they surprise us.

What books have you read that were totally different than you expected? Let’s talk about it in the comments section. My answer will be in the comments.

  1. The Story of Edgar Sawtelle by David Wroblewski. I read this when it came out in 2008 and I don’t really remember what I expected it to be. I do remember that it was totally not what I was expecting. I think it was mostly because this isn’t a genre I typically read.

    1. I guess reading a different genre can take you out of your comfort zone. I honestly have no idea how a romance novel would go. I have no desire to find out, either.
