Writing isn’t easy. It’s time-consuming, and when you’re writing a book, you don’t get paid anything until it’s sold. Most authors have a full-time job and writing takes place during their free time. And for those who are self-publishing, they have to hire editors and cover artists, who are not cheap.

In my case, I have a cover artist for my first book already, but I’m far from having an editor. The day job doesn’t exist yet, and this makes it difficult to pay bills and support my family. Thankfully, I have a wonderful family who can help out, but I can’t impose on them for too long.

Therefore, I have joined Patreon. What is that? It’s a crowdfunding platform that is made for the creative people, the artists, the authors, the video makers.  These people have to work without much income while they’re creating. That’s where Patreon comes in. It allows people to become patrons and contribute some money, let’s say it’s kind of like a tip. It could be as little as $1, or as much as they want to give. Best of all, it’s completely voluntary. Consider it a donation or a tip.

What you would be supporting is a couple of things. First and foremost is my writing. You will continue to get Journey to Ariadne for free, and you’ll be able to see several rewards. This includes advance viewing of some of my writing, behind-the-scenes videos of the writing process and the creation of my office, and even monthly skype calls with me. Secondly, you’ll be supporting some YouTube video-making. I’m creating travel, language, and book videos. They’re free to view, but you’ll get some input and some advance viewing, as well as patron-only videos.

Of course, you’re not required to support me. However, it would be incredibly appreciated. You’ll help me get my debut novel done more quickly. You’ll help me finish Journey to Ariadne more quickly. And you’ll help me get those videos out in a more timely manner. And you’ll help me support my family at the same time. I’m not normally one to ask for help like this, but as I said, it would be greatly appreciated.

Are you interested? Please see my Patreon page and pledge. I would be very grateful.
