So, December is almost upon us.
I have plans for December. I talked about how I plan to get back to the basics before. December is the month I start to do it. I have a pretty solid plan for it. Now, keep in mind that my work schedule is pretty heavy during the holidays, so I will be working longer hours and more days than usual then. Regardless, I’ll maintain a post a day. But what I post about will be back to the roots of this blog. This is what to expect:
- Five book reviews. That’s right, five.
- An author interview.
- Resuming Quick Facts Astronomy.
- And at least one worldbuilding post.
I really want to get back to doing these things. It’s part of what gave this blog its character. I also plan on doing something else new. You know I’ve been doing Star Trek episode reviews. Well, I plan on doing reviews of full seasons of different TV shows and movies. Coming soon will be season 1 of The Walking Dead, as it’s pretty short, and I just have two more episodes to watch.
Are you looking forward to December? Let me know what you think in the comments below.
Many readers would love to talk to their favourite authors. With the internet, it’s quite possible to have that chance. But it depends on the author, as well. Some are very open to talking to their readers and easy to contact. However, others are quite busy and not at all easy to get in touch with. Some have other people handle their correspondence.
I’ve spoken with a couple authors who are well-known or relatively well-known within their genres. One is Alastair Reynolds. He wrote the Revelation Space series. The other is Michael J. Sullivan. He wrote the Riyria series (and is still writing in that series). Michael has contributed on this blog, as well. There are many others I would like to talk to, and maybe I will in the future.
Which authors have you spoken to (in person or by email is fine), and who would you like to talk to? Let me know in the comments!
This month, I will be participating in the 2K International Writers’ Blog Tour hosted by Kate Evans and Kate M. Colby.
Every day, except for Sunday, I will be posting an interview with a different author, and linking back to the Kates’ blogs. I’m going to try to get these posts done just after midnight my time. Although the first interview is due for the 2nd, I’ll be posting it on the 3rd shortly after midnight. Technically, it’ll still be the 2nd in the UK and Kansas. The first interview will be for host Kate Evans.
And in case you’re wondering, yes, I’m interviewed, too. Mine will be only a few days before my birthday.
The new feature, now officially called Authors Answer, has its own page. Not only that, there’s a contributors page, too.
You won’t find all of the profiles up yet, as I’m waiting for three of them. But please go and check them out. They’ll be answering a question every week about writing and books, and the answers will be posted every Friday.
Now, I still need the bios for the following people:
- Jean Davis
- Elizabeth Rhodes
- Linda G. Hill
Please let me know through the form on the About page. Then I can get you the questions for November.
Also, there’s still room for one more contributor. If you’re interested, please leave a comment. First person to offer will become a contributor.
I’m looking forward to all of the answers!
