I’m taking you on a brief journey.
It began innocently.
But it sat at 0% for the longest time.
It progressed, though.
I turned off the new default features. But so far, it works! No issues at all. Occasionally it tells me it’s updating something, but that’s quick. I explored a bit. I saw an app in the Start Menu. Minecraft??? Probably not installed. And it’s a beta version. Wonder if I should try it. And then waste my time!
My only annoyance is that I can’t change the colour of the title bar of windows. Oh well.
Posted from my iPhone SE.
As I type this on my iPhone, my sister is trying to resolve an issue with her newly upgraded Windows 10. It won’t recognize the network connection. She’s upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10. It’s a headache. Many solutions fail because the instructions provided fail to understand that she has no internet connection! So, she’s thinking about going back to Windows 7.
I have yet to upgrade mine. I’m going from Windows 8.1, which has a lot more in common with Windows 10, so I shouldn’t have the same issues. I hope.
Anyone have this problem?
Update: Restarting the modem and computer seemed to resolve it. However, some login information was lost. Oh well, it seems to work now. Next is my computer!
It’s July 26, only three days until the free offer for Windows 10 is finished. I haven’t upgraded yet. But I get this every day now:
I’m upgrading this week, but I had to do a lot of work to free up space on my C drive. It was full of videos! I’ve since moved a lot to my D drive, and now I have more than enough space to run the upgrade. But what’s stopping me?
In the past, I’ve had trouble with upgrading software. When I upgraded from Windows 8 to 8.1, I had a problem with my desktop refreshing every second, making it impossible to do anything. Turns out it was an upgrade from some other software that was hitting a lot of people. I had to restore my computer from an earlier date, and that fixed it. I’m good with computers and technology. So why do I get nervous when I have to make a major upgrade? Does anyone else feel that way?
Very interesting week. Probably the biggest news is a friend of mine is moving, and she asked me if I’d like to take some of her books. Of course, I said yes! I’ll do a post about that later this week. But the big surprise is that she and her husband are going to be neighbours! They’re moving only three blocks from where we live. Wow!
I’ve been bad at this. Still at 52% in Redemption Ark. Remind me to read every day this week.
7 videos on my main channel and 2 on my new vlog channel! Okay, so two of those videos were the same, so technically it’s 8 videos. Did I mention I started a new channel? I have a big video to edit and post tonight. Actually, I’m editing and posting two videos, one on each channel.
I didn’t do anything. I really should have.
The biggest thing that’s happening is next month. Authors Answer is having a special month. It’ll be an interesting four weeks!
The Next Week’s Goals
I have some updating work to do on the blog, and I really, really should do some reviews! I’m going to be doing some work to learn how to make end cards for videos and do some upgrading on my video editing. I also want to get completely caught up in social media.
However, probably the biggest thing I’m doing this week is making sure my C drive has enough space (moving several GB of photos and videos to my D drive) so that I can upgrade my computer to Windows 10. Hopefully it goes smoothly. Must do it this week!
How was your week? Let me know in the comments below.
I’ve decided to delay upgrading to Windows 10. I have the option of doing it now, but I do have a year to install it. So, how is Windows 10 going now?
My wife has installed it, and I’ve heard nothing bad about it. It looks a lot more like Windows 7, which I absolutely loved. I’d still be using it if my old computer’s hard drive hadn’t failed. Windows 8.1 still gives me issues. I am looking forward to using Windows 10, but I’m not installing it yet.
Why? Well, I want to make sure that the major bugs are gone from the operating system. That’ll take some time. I’d like to install an OS that’s more stable and with fewer problems, so I’ll probably wait until around April to upgrade, once we’re in Canada.
Has anyone upgraded to Windows 10? How is it?
I have no idea why, but whenever I upgrade something, I feel nervous. Maybe it’s because I’ve upgraded something in the past and it was a mistake. I had problems. Well, this time, I’ve upgraded my phone.
I’ve had the same phone for three years now, and I’ve finally got a new iPhone. Now what am I nervous about? Well, I’m worried about losing data. I’m worried about having to reconfigure my WordPress app again. Or is it just that I have to worry about remembering all my passwords?
I think the worst thing is that I have to sync my old iPhone first, and the AC adapter doesn’t stay in the phone very well anymore. It gets pretty loose. I don’t need it to disconnect while I’m backing up all my data.
Well, that’s my task tonight.
