I Met Justin Trudeau! The Jay Dee Show 31

What a week it’s been in videos. Well, just three videos this week, but one of them was a pretty big event. You see, I met Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau! And yes, I have video.

So, on my main channel, there were three videos. The first is, of course, the Justin Trudeau video. And you know what? He hugged my daughter! Check it out!

Next up is some sad news. Zack Snyder pulled out of the Justice League movie, leaving it to Joss Whedon. His daughter committed suicide, so he decided to be with his family. Also, James Bond actor Roger Moore passed away this week. I talk about both in this special geek vlog (a new series of vlogs I’ll be doing whenever there’s something interesting to talk about that doesn’t fit in with my regular videos).

And finally, a kind of tutorial for anyone who wants to start a booktube channel on YouTube. I give some tips and pointers for beginners. If you’re interested, this may help you out! Check it out.

No science videos this week, but I may have one in the next couple days. I won’t be doing any science videos over the next two weeks, since I’ll be in Japan. Actually, one of the future science videos will be partly recorded in Japan.

And as for the next update, there might be one next weekend if I manage to spend time on my computer. I also plan on doing a travel vlog while I’m in Japan. So, definitely check out my main channel and subscribe if you want to follow that!

Which video did you enjoy the most? Let me know in the comments section below.

Week in Review – May 21, 2017

The past week has been very, very interesting. Especially yesterday. But more on that later, because I do have a video to show you. That’ll come tomorrow. So, let’s check what happened.

Reading

Still at 79% in Theft of Swords by Michael J. Sullivan. I didn’t actually read anything.

Writing

Nothing much. I haven’t advanced.

Videos

I recorded and posted a total of 3 videos. On my main channel, I posted 2 videos, and neither one is my usual video. But they are about some very interesting things. Definitely check them out. On my science channel, I actually posted something! Very important question for you.

Patreon

Nothing yet. I’ve been going through some things about making my Patreon page look good. I’ll be implementing them this week.

Languages

A little bit of French. I want to work on Japanese, though.

The Blog

Not a whole lot going on this past week, but I’ve been making some more progress on The Star Trek Project. I’m trying to watch a lot more.

Studying

Nothing.

The Next Week’s Goals

In a bit over a week, we’re going to be traveling to Japan for a couple weeks. There will be no updates beyond next Monday for a while. So, until then, things will be as normal, though I want to do as much as I can in terms of recording videos, watching Star Trek, and maybe even a swim in the pool.

How was your week?

Week in Review – May 14, 2017

Things seem to be getting back to something that resembles normal. Not quite at a post every day, but I think I’ll try get back to doing that in July. Videos are doing better. So, how was my week?

Reading

Still at 79% in Theft of Swords by Michael J. Sullivan. I think I’ll read for a few minutes tonight!

Writing

I think I’ll try writing for 10 to 15 minutes a night this week!

Videos

Well, what do you know? I posted more videos than last week. I have 3 new videos on my main channel, but nothing on my science channel yet. I’m going to be doing a vlog on my science channel, which I think I’ll do somewhat regularly. But it’s definitely related to science and the channel.

Patreon

Nothing yet. Still need to promote and grow my science channel first. Then this will grow.

Languages

I studied a tiny bit of French, but it was mainly just review of something I already know.

The Blog

I must do a better job at promoting the blog via social media. I keep getting behind. I also missed doing Commentition for the second month in a row. But that has a lot to do with not keeping up with comments. I need to improve that.

Studying

Nothing.

The Next Week’s Goals

More videos, regular blog posts. Expect more Star Trek posts. Also expect a return of Japan videos. I’d love to get those done. There’s a lot of work I have to do, but I won’t commit to doing a ton of work this week. It’s just two weeks until we go to Japan, and then blogging will almost completely stop during that period.

How was your week?

Week in Review – May 8, 2017

I’ve been fairly productive in the past week, though not so much online. Other aspects of life have been receiving a lot of attention. But let’s find out what’s been going on.

Reading

Still at 79% in Theft of Swords by Michael J. Sullivan. I didn’t read in the past week. I’m going to set aside some time after my daughter’s asleep at night to read.

Writing

Like reading, I may try do some writing in the living room at night. It’s about the only place and time I can do it.

Videos

I uploaded two videos to my main channel, but none for my science channel. I have two videos recorded for my main channel and one for my science channel. I’ll be getting plenty of recording done over the next three days for both channels.

Patreon

Nothing yet. I need to think of a strategy, as well as promote my science channel much more.

Languages

I studied a little more French. I should try spend about 15 minutes a day on this.

The Blog

Things have returned to almost normal. I’ve been posting far more regularly. Hoping to get back to daily posting after our trip to Japan.

Studying

Nothing.

The Next Week’s Goals

I’ll be getting more work done on the A to Z Challenge, which has already ended. I still plan to complete it, as it’s some quick and informative content for my science channel. I’ll also be doing a lot more watching and reviewing of Star Trek. Expect more very soon!

How was your week?

Week in Review – April 30, 2017

Week in review? More like four weeks in review. What a month it’s been. I didn’t expect to catch a very strong cold that sapped my energy, then have to work for 10 straight days, most of which was very physical. That’s done for a while now, though. So, here’s what’s happened!

Reading

I got up to 79% in Theft of Swords by Michael J. Sullivan. I didn’t read nearly as much as I should have. I was tired. A lot.

Writing

Very tired. I couldn’t do any.

Videos

I didn’t have time or the energy to do much in the way of videos. I made no videos for my main channel. However, there were 5 new videos on my science channel. I was going to do the A to Z Challenge, but that obviously got interrupted.

Patreon

Nothing yet, but with the way the past month went, I didn’t expect anything.

Languages

I studied a little French, but not much.

The Blog

I’m very interested in seeing the stats for the Month in Review post coming soon. Lots of comments and views on a couple of my more controversial posts, one about Justin Trudeau, and one about the Mt. Etna meme that likes about the amount of CO2 the volcano releases in relation to the world’s CO2 production. I’ve been insulted. I have yet to respond.

Also, the A to Z Challenge was interrupted, as I mentioned before.

Studying

Nothing.

The Next Week’s Goals

Make sure my science blog is updated. Also, get to work on a lot of videos, catch up on comments, and actually work toward completing the A to Z Challenge. I should mention that we’re going to Japan in a month, so I need to work on getting my daughter’s passport done, but we need a document for that. Just waiting for it now.

How was your week?

Week in Review – April 2, 2017

The A to Z Challenge has begun! That’s the biggest news of the week, I’d say. Actually, I had a very busy week of work because it was spring break. Busy days of work resulted in less time for me to spend at home working on the blog and videos. Well, now I have a busy blogging and video-making month ahead of me. Let’s find out what happened.

Reading

I’m now at 72% on Theft of Swords by Michael J. Sullivan. I feel like I’m almost finished, although Avempartha is book two of this series, and only half of this book.

Writing

I may have an idea for getting time to write. We’ll see if it works.

Videos

Just three videos. One for my main channel and two for my science channel. But this week, there will be six on my science channel. The A to Z Challenge has begun, and I’m doing it on both my blog and science channel. Definitely subscribe to my channels if you want to see more.

Patreon

With the amount and type of videos I’m doing on my science channel, I wonder if anything will happen.

Languages

I didn’t study anything.

The Blog

The A to Z Challenge started, as I’ve mentioned before. This will be a busy month, definitely. I also started another blog, one for my science channel. Check out the blog and follow it if you’re interested in science.

Studying

Nothing.

The Next Week’s Goals

This week and for the entire month, I’m dedicated to the A to Z Challenge. Although there won’t be much in the way of books and writing in this challenge, it’ll keep me busy. I hope you’ll enjoy the content I provide this month.

How was your week?

Week in Review – March 26, 2017

I feel like I haven’t been able to get as much done recently. And this week is going to be very busy. So, what happened in the last week?

Reading

I’m now at 61% in Theft of Swords by Michael J. Sullivan. This week, I’ll have a lot more time to read, since I’ll be on the bus a lot. Expect a lot more done this week.

Writing

Nothing happening.

Videos

Only one video. I only managed one for my main channel. But my science channel is about to have a massive number of videos coming.

Patreon

I’m curious how much will happen in April with Patreon, considering the videos I plan to make. Different than what I’ve done before.

Languages

I didn’t study anything.

The Blog

Just the usual posts, though fewer than normal. But next week will be very interesting!

Studying

Nothing.

The Next Week’s Goals

It wasn’t an exciting week, but I’ll be having an interesting one coming up. I actually recorded three videos last week, but only posted one. I’ll be posting the other two this week, plus the first science video for the A to Z Challenge, which will also be done on this blog. That’s what I’m preparing for. I’m looking forward to it!

How was your week?

Week in Review – March 20, 2017

I’m still getting over my cold, but it’s not as bad as it was a week ago. It was at its worst last Monday and Tuesday. So, how productive was I?

Reading

I had an awful time reading. Just too tired most of the time on the bus. I did read 58% in Theft of Swords by Michael J. Sullivan, though.

Writing

Nothing happening.

Videos

This was one area that was slow, thanks to my cold. I had only 2 videos on my main channel. As for my science channel, there was only 1 video, but this was as planned.

Patreon

I’m keeping up to date on this. But so far, nothing has been happening in terms of patrons. I don’t expect that for a while, though.

Languages

I did a bit of French!

The Blog

I felt slow with blogging, as well. March is turning out to be a slow month, but April will be busy. A to Z Blog Challenge is coming up!

Studying

Nothing.

The Next Week’s Goals

This week, I start on making the videos for the A to Z Challenge, and I need to do the research for the blog posts. I also need to prepare for next week. I work a lot more, so I don’t have as much time to record videos. I need to get some done on Wednesday.

How was your week?

Week in Review – March 13, 2017

Getting sick isn’t fun. I caught a cold, and this one has been sucking the energy out of me. That’s also a reason this is a day late. So, here’s what’s been happening in the past week.

Reading

I’m now at 50% in Theft of Swords by Michael J. Sullivan, having finished The Crown Conspiracy, which is book one of the series.

Writing

Nothing happening.

Videos

On my main channel, I had a very slow week, having uploaded only one video. But it was a world building video, so it’s pretty significant.

On my science channel, I uploaded two videos, one of which is dedicated to a single science topic.

Patreon

I’m updating this regularly now, though I need to make sure I don’t fall behind.

Languages

Nothing in the past week.

The Blog

Nothing special happening, though thanks to my cold, I haven’t been very motivated. I just want to sleep!

Studying

Nothing.

The Next Week’s Goals

I need to work on some videos over the next two days. I should be getting a couple science videos done and several booktube videos recorded. I’ll also be preparing for the A to Z Blog Challenge, getting my topics all ready. There’s a bit of planning to do for this one.

How was your week?

A Big Anniversary! The Jay Dee Show 23

Today marks a major anniversary in Japan and for me personally. I had a couple big videos this week, but I only uploaded a total of 3. There’s another I may be able to get up tonight, though.

On my main channel, I only uploaded one video (another coming soon). This video is a continuation of my world building series. This time, it’s about making calendars for sci-fi and fantasy worlds.

And then, moving on to the science channel, I have two new videos, including a science news video and my first video dedicated to a single science topic. The first video is a weekly science news video featuring stories about Hyperloop, Mars, and the white rhino that was killed by poachers.

The second video is a science video about the big earthquake and tsunami in Japan in 2011.

The next week will feature only one science video, though I’ll probably start preparing the April A to Z videos. I’ll also be doing some regular booktube videos.

Which video did you enjoy the most?
