I have an Instagram account, and have amassed 616 photos on it, though I haven’t done any recently. Surprisingly, I still get people liking my photos. I’ve decided to see what you, my readers, think are my best photos.
Two or three times a week, I’ll post ten of my Instagram photos and ask you to vote in a poll for your favourites. I’ll have the poll set to multiple choice, so you can choose as many as you like. But I would like to ask you to choose at least 2, but no more than 4. 3 is ideal. I will take the top photos (around the top three) and advance them to the second round. There are 616 photos, so this may take some time.
Here are the first ten photos. The poll follows at the end, so please look at the entire post. I would like you to also leave a comment explaining your choices. I’m very interested in knowing.
Thanks for voting! Please explain your choices in the comments below.
Nakamise looked the best to me, or at least stood out. I like how the colors mash up. They all look good though, thanks for sharing these.
Thanks for the vote.
No problem
Having major flashbacks to my several years in Japan – especially the subway photos.
Except the subway photos are train photos 🙂 No subways harmed in these photos 🙂
Whoops – looked like the subway.
Sometimes there are underground stations 🙂
Ahhh!!! Of course!!!
In station from the train, I like the way the sunlight highlights the pillar in the station. The running through exit sign is cute and funny; I also am not very adept at deciphering signs without words, so I appreciate seeing ones from different countries. In going up to the train, I like the different sets of lines, the perspective, and the play of light and shadow.
Thanks for your vote. It seems like light and lines are often mentioned for these photos.
I voted for Yokohama and Machida mostly for the lighting I think. I liked how bright and busy the Yokohama picture was and how downcast all the faces in the Machida photo were.
Thanks for the vote. I think the Machida one is too dark to see the faces well, so it seems that way. Most people were focused on getting to the station.
