Authors Answer 5 – A Video Update!

Check out the original post here. The question is:

Have you read any foreign language novels, translated or not? What would you recommend?

For the first time, I have a different answer than the original. You see, I’ve read a foreign book that has been translated into English since then. And it was a difficult one! Find out what it was in the video.

If you didn’t want to take the time to watch the video (I think you should), then you’ll know from the thumbnail above anyway. It is The Iliad, which I reviewed last year.

Let me know what you thought of the video and the book, if you’ve read it.

  1. I’ve read a few foreign language novels mostly either written originally in French or actually in French. I read The Little Prince when I was a child then read it again in French class in Saint-Exupery’s native tongue. I’ve read Les Miserable in English, and I’ve read The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, which starts off The Millennium Series (also in English).

I’ve read the Iliad, as well, in addition to The Oedipus Cycle so I suppose those would count. Oh, I’m currently reading The Mabinogion, which is Welsh mythology, and I plan to read The Poetic Edda soon, which would be Norse. If I include mythology in this, then I have quite a list 🙂

    1. Mythology interests me. Partly why The Iliad interested me. I’d love to read about Norse mythology, since I’m part Norwegian. But other mythologies would be interesting, too. Welsh, huh?
